app.

When recording, the phone can either be placed Vertically or Horizontally, this will not affect the quality of the recording.
Take a seat in a chair, and be in a seated,
relaxed position. Relax the arms and hands to reduce muscle noise. To reduce muscle noise, rest your arms on a flat surface to increase stability while you are recording.
If your fingers are dry, use the water wipes included (or a damp paper towel or cloth) and lightly wet your fingers that will be touching the electrodes
If you are receiving no signal or weak signal when recording, please see the troubleshooting section and/or get in touch with Hire Health for more support.
Once the recording is completed, the app will instantly analyse the recording.

Troubleshooting the ECG device
If you're having trouble getting a clear ECG recording, try these tips:
Clean the electrodes using a clean, damp, soft cloth. Wash your hands with soap and water. Use a very small amount of water to moisten the skin where your fingers make contact with the electrodes.
If the recording does not smooth out with trying the above tips, adjust your position to sit comfortably. Ensure that your arms and hands remain still to reduce muscle noise. Do not apply too much pressure to the electrodes.
If the recording still does not smooth out, move away from any nearby electronics, power cords or outlets as these can cause disruption.
If you wear hearing aids, turn them off prior to recording.
Please get in touch if you're still having problems. We'd love to help!
How do I share the results with my doctor?
We'll take care of compiling your data and sending it through to your nominated healthcare professional. We'll also copy you in, so that you have your recordings should you need them in the future.
What is the ECG device capable of finding?
This device is the first FDA (Federal Drug Agency) approved portable ECG monitor. That means its been rigorously tested and has proven to be easy to use and accurate. You can choose to rent either a single lead ECG or 6-lead ECG which can be easily shared and analysed by your health professional.
The Kardia app itself can analyse your ECG prior to sharing with your health professional. Rhythms it can analyse include Atrial Fibrillation (AFib/AF), Bradycardia, Tachycardia, PVCs, Sinus Rhythm with wide QRS and Sinus Rhythm with SVE.
Do I need a smartphone to use the devices?
The ECG devices require a smartphone or tablet.
The 24 hour Blood Pressure devices don't require anything extra.
For the ECG devices - If you have a compatible smartphone/tablet you can use your own. Check compatibility here.
You can choose to add a smartphone to your order if you need one. If you do this, the smartphone comes already set up and ready to go.
Should I get a single-lead or 6-lead ECG?
The single-lead option is great if you're wanting basic heart monitoring, checking for various arrhythmias or for looking at the effects of exercise on the ECG.
The 6-lead ECG device provides more detailed information about the heart's electrical activity, making it a superior tool for diagnosing and monitoring a range of cardiac conditions.
I've made an order. When will my device arrive?
In most cases, you'll receive your ECG device within 10 days of submitting your order. But we'll let you know when it's on the way.
Please get in touch if you have specific dates you'd like to use the device. In most cases, we can work with you to achieve this.
